At the invitation of Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son, the delegation of Ministry of Communications of Republic of Cuba, headed by Mr.Wilfredo Gonzalex Vidal – Deputy Minister, paid a working visit to Hanoi from 08th to 12th July 2013
Under the working program in Vietnam, on 10th July 2013, the delegation paid a working visit to Vietnam Telecommunications Authority (VNTA), Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and some other units of Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). During the working session, the units of MIC introduced functions, missions and management tasks in all fields including Telecommunications, Internet Resources, National Internet Exchange and Radio Frequency…The delegation of Cuba was really interested in the presented contents and suggested to continue discussing about the experiences in the future. At the end of the working program, Mr. Vidal – Deputy Minister suggested that the details discussed among the authorities during this visit should be considered to be of great importance and involved in the content of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba. The Memorandum of Cooperation will lay the foundation for strengthening the cooperation in the fields of Information and Communications as well as the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

Previously, on 09th July 2013, the delegation had a meeting at deputy minister level with Deputy Minister of MIC– Mr. Le Nam Thang. Both sides had a quick inform of the development of IT and Telecommunications in each country, which includes strategic direction, policy and development programs in IT and communications in Vietnam and Cuba, telecommunications management policy, Internet and information security. Two deputy ministers also reviewed the results of Vietnam – Cuba mutual cooperation in the field of IT and Telecommunications and the future direction of cooperation between two countries as well as two ministries.
