On May 6th 2016, at Melia Hotel, Hanoi, the conference “National IPv6 Action Plan – Providing IPv6 services together” was hosted by the Vietnam IPv6 Task Force (VNIPv6TF), attended by Mr. Phan Tam – Deputy Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and chaired by Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) – the Standing Committee of VNIPv6TF.
After the success of annual events celebrating the Vietnam IPv6 Day (May 6th) since 2012, VNIPv6TF decided to host the conference in order to gather all stakeholders of the Internet ecosystem in Vietnam to discuss about the obstacles they have faced when deploying IPv6 in Vietnam. Those include the representatives of MIC, members of the task force, representatives of ministries and authorities, Internet associations, ICT enterprises like VNPT, VIETTEL, FPT, content providers and online newpapers such as Vnexpress, Vietnamnet... and other press media.
In their presentation and also the general discussion, representatives of FPT Telecom, FPT Online (VNexpress), VIETTEL, VNPT, NETNAM talked about the achievements in implementing IPv6 in their own enterprises after Phase 2 of the National IPv6 Action Plan ended. To sum up the discussion, Mr. Tran Minh Tan, Director General of VNNIC, appreciated the critical role of all major enterprises in IPv6 deployment and request for their mutual agreement to increase the IPv6 adoption rate by users to some one-digit percentage by Vietnam IPv6 Day 2017. VNIPv6TF would played the mediator role to connect, consult, and support the community.
