The delegation of Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and Vietnam IPv6 Task Force (VNIPv6TF) headed by Mr. Nguyen Hong Thang, Deputy Director General of VNNIC, paid a working visit to Korea from 02nd to 04th December 2015.
This visit constituted parts of the cooperation activities involved in the MoU signed between VNNIC and Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) in February 2015, as well as the National IPv6 Action Plan. Members of the delegation included representatives of VNNIC, Department of Science & Technology and Department of Information Technology (MIC) and the domestic ISPs such as VNPT and MobiFone. The delegation had meetings with KISA and KRNIC, two Korea’s leading telecommunications companies: SK Telecom and KT Corporation.
In the meetings with SK Telecom and KT Corporation, the experiences of deploying IPv6 for 4G LTE were definitely shared with enthusiasm from all parties. This was an important achievement for the mobile companies and a big lesson for all Vietnamese companies when the second phases of the National IPv6 Action Plan is coming to the end with a focus on IPv6 deployment for mobile broadband.
VNNIC and KISA also had the meeting on the following topics: government policies on Internet resource management including ccTLDs and IP address/ASN; laws and regulations on Internet resource management and use; domain name dispute resolution policy and practice; statistics and data research; Internet security and protection of national technical systems, and various other cooperation activities.
After the working visit, it is expected that the knowledge and experiences gained from those Korean agencies and companies would help improve the situation of IPv6 deployment in Vietnam.
