On 5th May 2013, in Ho Chi Minh City, Asian Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) had a trip to and officially worked with Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC) about management of IP address, especially corporating to push the development of IPv6.
At the meeting, Mr.Sanjaya – Senior Director of Services and Operations and Ms. Miwa Fuji – Expert IPv6 of APNIC shared updated information about the shortage of IPv4 and deploying IPv6 in some countries all over the world. APNIC did update information about the shortage of IPv4 and transfering IP address within Asian Pacific area. Deploying IPv6 is more and more pushed in many countries, and the output of IPv6 in the Internet increases more and more. However, the content applications on IPv6 in many countries all over world including Vietnam is still weak, many corporations supplying content have not officially started deploying applications on the IPv6.

Deputy Director Tran Minh Tan, representative for VNNIC, shows the sincere thankfulness to APNIC for assisting and participating in activities deploying IPv6 in Vietnam held by VNNIC. On this occation, VNNIC did announce updated situation about deploying IPv6 in Vietnam, which includes the event Vietnam selecting the date 06/05 every year to be “The day IPv6 Vietnam”. Especially, on the occation “The day IPv6 in Vietnam” this year, in 06/05/2013, VNNIC with Top – level 06 ISP in the country (VNPT,Viettel, FPT Telecom, NetNam, VTC, SPT) will officially together deploy IPv6 and develop the National IPv6 Network. The opening celebration of Vietnam IPv6 service will be celebrated within the scope of the meeting “The day IPv6 Vietnam” which is celebrated at the same date in the hotel Intercontinental, Ho Chi Minh city.
