  • RFC 1034 “Domain Names - Concepts and Facilities” - Các định nghĩa cơ sở quan trọng nhất về tên miền và hệ thống tên miền. Giới thiệu về các dạng tên miền, cách sử dụng, các giao thức và máy chủ được dùng để cung cấp các dịch vụ tên miền.
  • RFC 1035 “Domain Names - Implementation and Specification” - Mô tả cấu trúc của một hệ thống tên miền, các giao thức được sử dụng, dựa trên các khái niệm đã được trình bày trong RFC 1034.
