VNNIC carries out bilateral activities within the framework of the VNNIC Internet Conference 2024.

From June 5–6, 2024, within the framework of the VNNIC Internet Conference 2024, VNNIC conducted bilateral activities with regional and international organizations responsible for Internet resource management.

In recent years, the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) has effectively developed and implemented bilateral cooperation agreements with regional and national organizations responsible for Internet resource management. This support and collaboration have played an important role in enhancing the management and development of national Internet resources in particular, and in advancing the overall growth of the Internet in Vietnam.

Long-standing and effective bilateral cooperation between the regional NIC (APNIC) and the national NIC of Vietnam (VNNIC)

The Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) recognized VNNIC as Viet Nam’s National Internet Registry (NIR) for IP/ASN management in 2003. Since then, the relationship and cooperation between the regional NIC—APNIC—and the national NIC—VNNIC—have been established and strengthened continuously.

As the national NIR of Vietnam, VNNIC has actively participated in regional initiatives across various fields. Since 2020, a VNNIC representative has been elected by APNIC and the regional community as the Chair of the National Internet Registry Special Interest Group (NIR SIG), further elevating Vietnam’s standing within the regional forum.

Within the framework of the VNNIC Internet Conference 2024 in Hanoi, APNIC and VNNIC renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand activities, enhance cooperation effectiveness, and elevate the scope of collaboration between the two organizations in the new phase.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony between VNNIC and APNIC

In addition to the MoU signing ceremony, the two organizations held a bilateral working session. Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Thắng, Director of VNNIC, and Mr. Paul Wilson, Director General of APNIC, expressed their high appreciation for the strategic and long-standing partnership between the two organizations. Joint activities carried out over the years have delivered practical results in Internet resource management and development, contributing to the improvement of network operations and service growth in Vietnam and across the region.

In the coming period, both sides will continue to strengthen and sustainably expand their cooperation, with a focus on sharing technologies and technical expertise related to Internet resource management, as well as coordinating on community development initiatives such as training programs and the establishment of technical and technology forums in Vietnam.

Strengthening the Effective Bilateral Cooperation Between the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA)

Since 2003, the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC) and the Korea Network Information Center (KRNIC) have maintained a close and effective cooperative relationship in national Internet resource management.

In 2015, the scope of bilateral cooperation was further elevated with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between VNNIC and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). Since then, annual bilateral exchanges and cooperation activities have produced practical value for both organizations.

Within the framework of the VNNIC Internet Conference 2024, VNNIC and KISA conducted their annual bilateral working program, sharing and discussing topics related to the development of Vietnam’s “.vn” and Korea’s “.kr” national domain names, Internet resource management, and efforts to promote secure and trustworthy Internet governance. Both sides recognized the strong efforts of VNNIC and KRNIC–KISA in enhancing bilateral cooperation and implementing practical activities that contribute to Internet resource development and the broader friendship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
